The problem of racial discrimination has given rise to very serious issues over the centuries and has acquired truly terrifying characteristics with the establishment of modern totalitarian regimes of one kind or another, but of way especially in the period of Nazi Germany. And, even outside of it, racial discrimination continues to be a topic of passionate doctrinal discussion, with inevitable practical consequences, in countries where white and black races, Semites and anti-Semites, Catholics and Protestants or other sectors shaken by irascible antagonisms coexist tensely.
