
In Republic Dominican, the Address General Internal Revenue Service (DGII) is the entity responsible for issuing motor vehicle certifications. These certifications are official documents containing insights relevant to a vehicle, such as vehicle data owner, vehicle characteristics, transfer history, and whether there are any objections or liens.
There are two types of motor vehicle certifications:
- Certification de Register Motor Vehicle: It contains insights general of the vehicle and its owner.
- Certification Motor Vehicle History: Shows the history of vehicle transfers and owners.
Requirements to request certifications:
- Application Form for Certification Motor Vehicles (FI-VHM-006): You must complete and sign this form. If the request is made by a person legal, the form must estar filled out, signed and sealed.
- Copy of the Schedule de Identity: From both sides, from the applicant. If you are extranjero, you must submit a copy your passport.
- Receipt de paid by services: By value from RD$300.00.

The cost of certification is RD$300.00.
Where to apply for certifications:
You can request motor vehicle certifications at:
- DGII Offices: You can go to the headquarters principal in Santo Domingo or to any of the regional offices.
- Office On-line DGII: You can request the certification en store through the Office On-line from the DGII, if you have access.
- Enter the Office On-line DGII with your user and key.
- In the "Requests" menu, select the opción "Request Certification».
- In "Type de Certification", choose"Register "Motor Vehicle History" or "Motor Vehicle History".
- Enter the license plate or chassis number of the vehicle.
